First Doc Visit

Ava had her first doctor's appointment with Doc Maddox yesterday. She had gained back up to 5lbs 12.5oz, which he said is great! Doc said she looks like a happy healthy baby and our next check-up will be at 1 month. She was a big girl during the visit and didn't even cry when we took all her clothes off for her to be weighed. She is wonderful and we are having such a good time getting to know her.

Miss Ava had a good night her first night at home. She only got up to eat 3 times during the night. Mommy and Daddy are so happy!

Ava has arrived!!

Miss Ava Caroline was born August 14th at 6:50am.

I started feeling some pains around midnight, decided by 1:30 to wake Matt up. We started timing and headed for the hospital around 3am. When we arrived my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and I was fully effaced and 5cm. I was 7cm by the time the doc came to place my epidural. Matt and I caught a quick nap and then the nurse came in and said it was time to start pushing! 45 minutes later Ava entered the world! It was an easy delievery and a wonderful experience to be a part of this little miracle!

Update from doc appointment 8-10-09

Dr. Shelley said that there hasn't been any change since last week, still 4 cm. Baby Ward's heartrate was monitored and was nice and strong in the 150's and everything looked good. We agreed to induce on Sunday if no baby by then. Dr. Shelley feels it will be safer for baby and me to not wait much longer. Keep us in your prayers and hopefully we will have a baby before Sunday!

Due date adventures!

We decided to go on a little exploring adventure since our due date had arrived and no baby. I was really ready to get out of the house! We decided to visit Lake Hartwell Dam since we had never been there. We had a lot of fun (got some walking in) and saw many beautiful sights.

Doctor's Appointment 8-3-09

Hi Everyone!

Well my doctor's appointment went well today. I have went from 2cm last week to 4cm this week, still 80% effaced. Dr. Shelley said that's good progress! She gave me the option of induction, but right now I'll continue to play the waiting game. My next appointment is next Monday, which is 2 days past my due date. Hopefully we'll have a baby by then!
